I am aware that you won't hit the 50%ias bp with zerker.
I really only use zerker to charge, with sorb gear, since I don't have enough dex to use grief pb when I take off my raven + rune master. Usually charge kills most of the guys (zons, sorcs, necros), but there's always an exception such as a btals + mass 70/15 es blizz sorc, which then means you will need to smite to kill him/her.

Zerker is much better overall if you hit the 50% ias bp since it has more range than the pb does and it does more charge damage than pb.

I guess I'll add an option to use 20%ias gloves with the zerker.

I've maxed defiance on two of my previous smiters. It was useless.

A good second option, If you can afford it, is a 40/xxx griefz and upped bloodfists. Used with gspurs, u hit ur ias bp and the first fhr bp. It also means that u are only 3x fhr pcombs away from the 86 fhr bp
