Given that you are a beginner, you are safe to work through it. It may require that you use less weight, but you will be able to make it through without issue.

Thanks! You were right, infact, I felt less sore after the work out???? lol

Another follow up question:

I am prescribed with Adderall, I took mine late on day I did my workout mentioned above, and actually helped me work out more efficiently and felt stronger. I didn't know there would be an effect. Should I try to time my workouts right after my prescribed time to take it or is there a negative consequence? It only last a few hours and I go to the doctor and don't mention it at all because I don't want them to increase my dosage...

You can time it prior to workouts for maximum benefit. It is an amphetamine, so pre workout would be best. Remember, do NOT exceed the dosage prescribed by your doctor, and never use medication of any type without a prescription.

Raynor, been a while. I hope you're doing well.

What are your thoughts on occlusion training? (Also curious if anyone has ever asked this question before?)

Hi!

I have been talking to a nutritionist at work and she is recommending me to cut gluten, dairy, and sugar. We argued because she said to cut whey (because it's dairy) protein for PWO.... and cottage cheese (1/2 cup) before bed because it's better if you don't eat so much at night (and also because it's dairy). She is concerned that I am now on your lifting plan and trying to make sure I'm never hungry.

I might try her approach for a few weeks to see if I notice differences and take amino while working out and trying to eat meat right after in lieu of PWO

What are your thoughts?

Hey there.

It has been asked before, and I maintain my position that it is a gimmicky way to force the body into hypertrophy style size gains, predominantly based on hypervolemia via blood restriction.

I would NEVER suggest that you intentionally restrict blood flow, even if only via the veins and not arteries, as it is a major physiological change that MIGHT have far reaching effects that have not been studied fully.

Before I answer this, have you ever been tested at an allergist's office for food allergies, such as sensitivity to gluten or dairy? If not, this is a very hasty decision and not based in any type of actual fact on her behalf.

With regard to sugar, that goes without saying. Sugar is the eternal enemy of human life. It promotes fat gain, insulin resistance, feeds numerous diseases (including cancer), and also leads to addiction. So staying away from sugar is always a good idea across the board.

If you do not have direct allergies to dairy or gluten, I see no reason to discontinue either, unless you are trying keto, then you can still have dairy, but not milk or other dairy with carbs.
