i've never been able to get my cast iron pan to be non-stick. i use it for cooking things that dont need super nonstick (meat / veggies / pizza / grilled cheese / etc) but i won't dare try eggs on it. i've been following the manufacturer's instructions (350F in the oven). i used to use vegetable oil, now i use avocado oil. i see some comments to put it in the oven 500F for an hour, even if it smokes. how would you recommend seasoning a cast iron pan?

i use my 12'' with high sides, but it's so heavy i'm worried it's gonna hurt my wrist if i'm not careful. wanna order a 9 or 10 inch, but i really wanna get this nonstick coating down before i buy another one.

Don't use cast iron for non-stick purposes. Use stainless steel (such as All Clad brand) with a good layer of canola/avocado oil. Don't OVERHEAT, but instead use the manufacturer's recommendations.

i'm looking to reorder the fiber bars you recommended a while back, and i noticed whole milk powder is one of the ingredients in their blondie bar. should i avoid it? or do companies use a different kind of milk powder compared to what consumers get in the store?

http://www.nugofiber.com/blondie-bar.html

looks like they rebranded from gnufoods to NuGo, but i think it's the same thing

It probably is the same, however you can also try Quest Bars, which are very high in fiber, but also high in protein.

Hey raynor, I've found that when I'm doing weighted dips(40+lbs) I sometimes get a stabbing pain in my collarbone. I'm assuming it's my AC joint. If I lean forward it will go away, but then it's focusing more on chest. I think my form's pretty good: elbows close + chest full of air going down, any recommendations on how to get rid of the pain?

btw I stop when I get pain, I'm not trying to break myself :p

What can a naturopath do? I have an intolerance to lactose, wheat, and sugar. My friend said when he was a kid he had a lactose intolerance aswell, the naturopath just got him to not eat certain foods for 3 months, and now he can drink all the milk he fuking wants

any validity to a naturopath?

hi ray i started filming my form mainly on squat and dl. and found major problems.

I cant seem to break parallel when i squat even with 0 weight. some things that ive tried that made it a little closer to parallel were pointing toes out past 45 degrees with wider stance and lifting heels off as i approach thre groind with my butt. are these corrections ok or do i need to stretch

thanks

did some research, and sounds like hip flexor tightness is the culprit? if so what is the best stretch (there are thousands) but whats a overall good one that i can do real quick during work breaks and such

My bench has stalled for quite a while, last spring I ran smolov Jr. and I hit 185x3 for TnG reps, my strength declined after coming off the program though

About a month ago I hit 185x3 1 second pause reps basically 9 months with little progress

I've been on the Texas method for the last month or so with great progress on my squats and deadlifts increasing those 5lbs every week (1 week I missed my squats due to lack of sleep and food) but my bench has been at 180x4 last 3 weeks

Here's my program

Mon
5x5 bench (90% of last Friday's weight)
5x5 squat (90% of last Friday's weight)
10x1 deadlifts (90% of last Friday's weight)

Wed
2x5 squats 80% of Monday weight
3x5 bench 80% of Monday weight

Fri
1x5 squats (5pbs heavier than last week if reps were all hit)
1x5 bench (2.5lbs heavier than last week of all reps were completed (1.25 extra lbs per side)
5x1 deadlifts (5lbs heavier if all reps were completed last week)

My volume day bench I'm able to hit all my reps, should I add more volume? Maybe an extra 3x5 of flat db bench max effort on Mondays?

There really isn't any way to get rid of the pain assuming your form is on par. You can change your grip from a lateral grip to an overhand grip (if you have the handles for this) and see how that works.

Personally, if you're having problems with something like this, I'd recommend simply avoiding it for a while and seeing if your body changes on its own.

It all depends on the person. Some people respond very well to different (unconventional) treatments, methods, approaches, etc.

Despite being trained in standard allopathy, I believe in alternatives first, except in dire medical emergencies, as direct conventional treatments usually come at a price.

That being said, you can always try more natural approaches and see how your body responds. There is no one magic form of medicine that works for everyone in all cases, all the time. Sometimes one or two will work well, other times, none will.
