When's the optimal time to take BCAAS?

also any recommended brand for someone trying to get bigger?
ive heard of people taking it in the morning when they wake up, during workouts, and after but that seems excessive.

Would love your opinion on the matter

thx in advance

Quick question.. have the CPAT for the Fire Department coming up in 1-2 months..

How should I best prepare myself the days leading up to each time trial?

As far as diet and workouts go. Currently at the gym 6 days a week eating 1800 to 2200 calories a day. Should I rest a few days before each trial? Or just do low weight sets?

Thanks

I would definitely rest a few days prior to the trials, and do cardio only. Avoid any type of weight exercises which might cause injury, fatigue, or soreness.

You should just be preparing by doing the actual exercises required for the trials (or as best as you can recreate them) striving to improve your time each week, until you reach the week of the trials, then you should stop all together except for basic cardio training.

Curious for a diet for a girl, I planned to just throw her on the same weight routine as me just lighten the load a bit, but I was curious as to what types of food a girl should be eating? not so much to go on a drastic diet but to maybe "cut" and get a little more lean at the same time, nothing ridiculous, like going from maybe 120 to around 110 lbs, maybe less... thanks alot sir!

Ray, is there a certain lifting/cardio plan I should follow while doing the Keto diet? Or is anything okay...

It depends on the goals at hand. If you want to purely lose fat, virtually anything will do in terms of pure exercise. However, if you want to maintain muscle mass, or in some cases even gain muscle on keto, you need to stick to 3x5 or 5x5 training. Take BCAA's immediately before training as well as immediately after.

For general fat loss and muscle sparing, 12/10/8/6 set/rep scheme is good, with a split of one large muscle group and one small muscle group is good (ie: chest/bis, back/tris, etc.)

any of these are fine....or make your own....

Try Optimum Nutrition BCAA Caps or NOW! BCAAs

Take BCAA before, during, and after exercise - approx 45 minute prior, and every 45 mins during, and immediately upon completing workout, for maximum results. You can skip the immediately after workout IF you take a protein shake high in BCAAs (virtually any protein shake)

5g prior, and then 2.5g intra (every 45 mins) is recommended for a 200 lb male

Hi Raynor

I am currently 176lbs and 18% bf 5'11

I set my goal to be 185lb and 10-13% bf, What is the best approach or most efficient way to achieve this goal?

basically, before i start cutting, what do i bulk to in terms of bf% and weight?

Or if this is the wrong approach entirely...

Is it possible for an average male to achieve this even though my genetics don't like to put muscles where I want and make me skinny fat af?

Any advice is appreciated..

Thanks!

18% is high enough to begin a cut. I never recommend anyone to go above that before a cut, due to obvious aesthetics issues and possible excess skin issues as well.

That being said, do a strong cut for at least the next 3 months. Once you get down to the 8-10% area, you should begin a lean bulk, for somewhere around 8-10 months. If you get any higher than 12-13% BF, it's time to back off the carbs and add some cardio. Run the bulk until you hit a brick wall, then you can dirty bulk until 15%, and then cut again. Repeat the process as necessary.

Thanks. Should I aim to keep my current weight and just cut bf (lose fat gain muscle simultaneously) or is that inefficient and should just really be focusing on the caloric deficit?
