You don't use a top 10 pick on a QB that's going to sit for 4 years.

4 years? 90 mill is guaranteed over next 2, with 25 dead cap after next season. If they really want to move off Cousins they can. Sitting 1 year has worked out for alot of qbs.

Cousins probably isn't your long term solution whereas big Penix energy is.

He would be sitting 2 years minimum.

And you don't use a top 10 pick for a guys to sit 2 years when your team has solid pieces to win.

Falcons didn't need a QB, because, just like you said, they can move on from Kirk, yet they waste a top 10 on a QB.

He'd sit one year and cut kirk(25dead cap), mahomes? Love? Hurtz sat for a bit. They had a chance to potentially take qb2 in this draft, they took it. Kirk is short term solution from which th3y can move on if penix pans out. They'll be too good next year to even sniff an opportunity to grab a potential future qb. Ppl r too fixated on the fact Kirk is there and is paid. You got a chance to take a Franchise qb, you take that coin flip. Everyone and the Falcons know cousins isn't winning them a sb.
