Hello.
I haven't had a cpu since 05 but want to get one for d2( and work office stuff).
Looking for the cheapest laptop that can run d2r comfortably.
Figured I'd see if anyone here has knowledge on this as I'm completely out of my element.
If it can run d2 then it can handle any other function I need it for.
If you know of the best and cheapest tower I will consider that too but really would prefer a laptop.

As long as you have any smart device (phone, laptop etc) then you had a CPU. CPU is the processor of a device... you dont call a computer CPU. Either laptop, pc or desktop pc. Calling it CPU is just confusing

If you are looking for a laptop, aim for one with at least a GTX 1060 OR above.

But, do yourself a favor and just get a desktop XD

Desktop PC is generally alot cheaper. Just get a 1080p monitor, mouse + keyboard + and a reasonable desktop PC (tower)

Yeah I mean PC not cpu sorry.
May end up buying both.
But for space purposes would prefer a laptop.
My confusion is mainly is with graphics specs.
When you say gtx 1060 or above but product specs say completely different brand and numbers I don't know how to compare or contrast

Intel alder lake n95 processor should be fine right?

You can then change 3050 to whatever the laptop has. That way you basically compare anything to a 1060 mobile.

Should far exceed d2r necessities.
It has geforce rtx 4060

Supposedly it can run baldur gate 3 which would be a sweet bonus if that's true

you could use a computer thats been in your grandmas closet for the last 20 years and it will run diablo 2 just fine.

Don’t waste your money on an expensive one, like vander said…you’d be surprised what will run d2, just get whatever you can afford and you’ll be good to go!
But for sure get a nice gfx card

D2? Or d2r?
Have never owned a laptop before so was not wanting to install a chip on a brand new one. Wound up paying more than I planned but hopefully the laptop is nice.

You may end up wanting more ram but that's an easy upgrade. That laptop should be fine for you
