there's nothing wrong with the point system. some people just overestimate its significance. the same is true for so many other metrics...

and that is what is wrong with the points system.

The point system is very clear on the fact that not all affixes are equally valuable and not all combinations work. It goes over what combinations of what stats to look for. This part is however pretty much ignored by the people that use the system. I’d say the system is okayish in itself. The way it is used (without regard to what combinations are useful) is dumb as shit.
