Just wondering everyone’s skilling preference, whether you tap cook and counter or if you hold cook then switch to counter when it pops up.
I’ve noticed both work, I personally like to tappy-tap, seems more precise imo.

Edit/ I mainly play on tablet, why I said tappy-tap, but would be clicky-click I guess on PC :P

When I used to fish and cook, I would use the 1 sec delay... tap (w8 a sec) then tap (w8 a sec) repeat and switch to counter per second. This is the standard 1s Delay even for normal weapons and charms and skilling... 1 sec delay... and if you time it correctly, it is more precise.

Just my thoughts on it... I like the 1.8 sec delay using heavy weapons because I am a noob. :D

Yeee that's exactly what I do, I tried holding, and countering but it just seemed way less precise and would miss the counter versus tapping.

could never hold down reel or cook and hit the counter in time.

for fishing/cooking "tappy tap" is the way. in short you can get 1 tap in before a counter can appear.
then it's a case of waiting for the bar to move, when the bar moves this is when snags/burns happen. so you have a good second to correctly react.

spamming taps is un-necessary seeing you can only make an action every 0.8 seconds and the timer of when the bar goes down is roughly every 1 second. so arguably if you get lucky you can just spam through and hope you don't get too many snags, but from experience i'd still suggest the waiting game is the optimal way.

I can do it like 70% of the time, but tappy-tap is like 95-100% if im paying attention.
