Just got into trading about a week ago so any book recommendations or advice is much appreciated that is if you trolls have any to offer. Bought some roku options that expire the 23rd, need +4% to break even anything after is profit, no good reason on picking a call other than they had a %20 drop this week, could still go down on tuesday but I thought it's worth the risk. Wanted to make an nvda call for the 23rd for +1000$ a share since they report earning on the 21st but my deposit won't reach my acct in time so I'll just have to watch. Anyone got any cool stories they'd like to share, like a sucessful trade done recently with arm or smci etc? Jsp restricted the subforums I can lurk so here I am, bored...

had a great week. great month. trades were spy and qqq puts, vxx calls from a swing and they hit Tuesday. I'll be jumping in again this week as long as we at the top

how my option plays work out: throw in $250 on a cash account on webull, then trade the opening range break on tsla, nvda, arm, etc and i'll get up to $700~ after a week or so of trading. then the next few weeks, my account is sitting at $139

happens every damn time, i swear it's like a game. learn to take profit! don't be like me

Had a spy put 10k January 2020, turned it into over 100k at its peak in March

Sold it for 11k in April 2020

Have the expectation that the option market is designed in every way to take money from you, because that’s the case

Best way to utilize options is to hedge against your other positions, at least this has been beneficial for myself. Using them as your 100% investment choice is a matter of when not if your account will blow up.

sold my VXX calls today and got in some AAL leaps for Dec at 5.95

Nice to see some traders on here that I can learn from, been meaning to reply to you guys but been super busy. Got owned this week on two small trades, the gameplan was to buy a nvda call for about 1.5k$ on 21st before market close, for some reason last second I thought I could just buy a cheap call instead for the 23rd and resell the contract the next day after price jump but my strike price on my call so still so far away from the actual strike price that theta decay owned me. Good lesson for me to learn and idk if I woulda learned it without actually doing it at least once. For now my position is all cash and next week I plan on a few small %10 days to slowly make up for what I lost this week. Maybe I'll start posting my trades on here so I can recieve advice or critisism before they go sour.
