Salvation, it seems, can evoke the simple idea of being saved from hell and being granted access to heaven. What might salvation mean to one, beyond this?
In knowing you are saved, do you fold your hands, look the other way, shy away from being involved? Is you heart rejoiceful, so much so that you want to share salvation? Does salvation have the power to change you, your heart and mind? Without a doubt, yes!
May salvation mean so much more to us than just the benefit of heaven and avoidance of hell; may it transform our thinking and behaving by offering our lives to others as Christ offered His life for our salvation.

“Salvation begins with us as wandering sheep. It follows us through all our mazy wanderings. It puts us on the shoulders of the shepherd and carries us into the fold. It calls together the friends and neighbors and rejoices over us. It preserves us in that fold through life. Then, at last, it brings us to the green pastures of heaven, beside the still waters of bliss, where we lie down forever in the presence of the Chief Shepherd, never more to be disturbed.”
