Here's what I dont understand (I am probably a little dumb, I know):

But if you look at it right now you see for example not even 700 people watch D4 right now on Twitch while the old bloke PoE is watched by 6,3k. Without even being accessable or player friendly at all. It is because it is motivating and inherits the D2 spirit.

My little brother is born in 1997, so he was too small to play D2 when it came out but he loved D3. Fair enough. When D2R released and I bought it, he laughed at me and told me how fuckin old I am (I am 40 btw.) and that its funny how I get excited over a 20+ year old remaster thanks to nostalgia.

He's right though, D2R was a nostalgia cash grab.

All the new changes they are making with itemization are heading closer in the D2 direction and that's the only thing worth taking from D2 imo.

Twitch viewership metrics aren't a great indicator of an active playerbase, why are you ignoring Elon Musk streaming D4 on twitter to millions of viewers for example?
There's also a large majority of D4 console players who don't regularly engage with Twitch at all.

IDK how much or what exactly you wished Blizzard copy/pasted from D2 but I see no evidence to support this would have been a good idea other than your own biased nostalgia.

I think first the gameplay in D4 is too narrow.

There are too few places to visit so only a few builds are viable - those that are GG for these specific places.

The itemization and skill tree are both way to complicated on the surface and once cracked they are broken and some builds escalate to the moon.

D2: If I want to play Blizz I put 20 points in blizz and the skills that add dmg. If I want to cast faster I get fcr. If I want more dmg I get +skill items. If I die to fast I get res and/or hp. If I run out of mana I get mana. If I get stuck when hit I get fhr.

It is straight forward and simple. And it is easy to overview for devs while creating diversity for players in how they build their characters.

The art lies in how to effectively combine all stats needed on Eq to get enough of what is needed and then max of what is wanted. Since the game is beatable quite early on it becomes more of personal flavor rather than necessity.

Cash grab sounds a bit vocal here. D2R was an interesting attempt, don't buy it if you don't want play d2 again. I mean, it is hard to skip new diablo, but D2R was not in the position of "new diablo game".

Elon Musk streaming D4 on twitter to millions of viewers - if he was streaming tetris, I strongly believe all those people were watching anyway. Would this mean tetris has millions of players (tetris probably does though)?
