Here's what I dont understand (I am probably a little dumb, I know):
But if you look at it right now you see for example not even 700 people watch D4 right now on Twitch while the old bloke PoE is watched by 6,3k. Without even being accessable or player friendly at all. It is because it is motivating and inherits the D2 spirit.
My little brother is born in 1997, so he was too small to play D2 when it came out but he loved D3. Fair enough. When D2R released and I bought it, he laughed at me and told me how fuckin old I am (I am 40 btw.) and that its funny how I get excited over a 20+ year old remaster thanks to nostalgia.
He's right though, D2R was a nostalgia cash grab.
All the new changes they are making with itemization are heading closer in the D2 direction and that's the only thing worth taking from D2 imo.
Twitch viewership metrics aren't a great indicator of an active playerbase, why are you ignoring Elon Musk streaming D4 on twitter to millions of viewers for example?
There's also a large majority of D4 console players who don't regularly engage with Twitch at all.
IDK how much or what exactly you wished Blizzard copy/pasted from D2 but I see no evidence to support this would have been a good idea other than your own biased nostalgia.
