I'm going through the early 30's depression cycle where I question my mortality, life choices, career progression and consider getting a motorcycle. Instead of the bike I'm working on learning an additional skill: programming. I've started a project for a text based adventure game.

Then I got to thinking that I don't really have any text adventures under my belt. I haven't played one since I was maybe six years old. What do you guys recommend? What are the absolute legends in the genre? What text adventures have you powered through? What did you think of them?

I liked the text adventures in space rangers reboot. I wish there was an app for them.

I'm unsure what you're referring to. I googled Space Rangers. Does the game have text adventure games within the original game? Gameception?

Yes. It's one of the best features.

If you get interested in text adventure games there are a lot that are considered abandonware now. I'm going to spend the rest of my week loading some of the OG ones up to see how well I fare at beating them.
