Hello!

I'm looking to upgrade my PC. Ideally this will be done piece by piece. What should I target first?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Motherboard: Micro-Star B350 Gaming Pro Carbon
GPU: 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTZ 1070

Thanks in advance!

What kind of games or programs do you use? And is there any budget?
Pcpartpicker is a good resource that will tell you if a new part will be compatible with your build.

Ah yeah, should've added a bit to my post, apologies.

I bounce around on games a lot. Escape from Tarkov, Hunt Showdown, Elden Ring, CyberPunk, a ton of others. Not necessarily looking for top of the line components, but something that can help me run these games on higher settings. I'll also give pcpartpicker a try. Appreciate it!

Gotcha! Pcpartpicker will definitely come in handy! I’d recommend upgrading in this order:
1 GPU
2 CPU
3 Motherboard/RAM at the same time due to needing ddr5 RAM

You might be able to get away with just upgrading your GPU & CPU if you have enough fans & your power supply can handle the upgrades. For reference I have a build with an rtx 2070, Ryzen 5 3600 & 48 gigs of ram that ran cyberpunk on med/high settings @ ~100fps before the cyberpunk 2.0 update. So anything comparable will probably work for you

Upgrade to the latest beta bios and get a 5800X3D, which is still a great gaming CPU, then upgrade your graphics card.

Thanks! I appreciate the responses! Think I’ll go with the 5800X3D and upgrade my GPU. Any GPU recommendations with my set up? Was looking into possibly the RX 7600. Looking for a mid - mid high tier card. Definitely don’t have the budget to get top tier stuff but something that will assist with playing games pretty smoothly. Thanks!

The RX 7600 is a great choice.

Thanks everyone! Micro center near me has a bundle for:

AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, MSI B650-P Pro WiFi, G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit for $370 is that worth it? Was thinking of getting that along with the RX 7600.
