Hi

Recently bought a new laptop.
I'd like the ability to dedicate either one of the two drives to a folder, where it'll synchronize the contents of that folder. This will prevent me from losing shit. I recently got mugged on the train and did lose a few weeks' worth of academic work, so I'm going to try and get a drive up to prevent losing data in the future.

However, as soon as I started installing my new laptop, it took the liberty of deciding to synchronize the full content of my external harddisk. This is about 250gb of data.
I can tell neither one of the drives to stop synchronizing this stuff. I can't seem to find a place where I can tell which files I do and don't want to synchronize.
They just both permanently synchronize data that I'll end up removing. However, even removing synchronized data seems to be damn near impossible.

I've been looking around both drives for over 2 hours and I'm at table-flipping, laptop-throwing levels of agitation. So I decided to drop a post here in hopes of a little direction ._.

Which program are you using for backups? If you’re using both OneDrive and Google Drive you need to choose one to use as multiple can cause issues
Also what OS are you using? Windows?

Yes, this is windows.
If I had to choose, I'd prefer google drive. That one, I managed to fully empty last night.
OneDrive, I just uninstalled for now lol

Ah, then uninstall any other backup programs, then download Google Drive. Here's a good walkthrough to backup specific folders once you have it installed:
