basically, with excess energy from solar panels for example in australia (a country that's been heading torward heavy anti-encryption laws for the past few years)
it's excess energy that has to be used somehow
or in winter, homes are expected to use more power from the grid from heaters, can heat the home with computers instead and the energy bill is being offset by those mining rewards so pretty much free heating in winter
or in alaska, could have both, solar panels and free heating
and literally no one even has to know because it's energy that is expected to be used or literally excess energy that has to be used regardless
