that fully supports openwrt
Needs to be able to hand traffic from 6 desktops /3 rasp pi`/ 6 phones / few smart tv's and consoles.
Needs to support 2.4 and 5ghz and speeds up to 1gb
There is no budget but options from 100-300$



any sort of magic answer for me?

In general, you want to stay away from Broadcom based devices, since they require proprietary blobs to function correctly (usually the wifi part), which openwrt does not include, for obvious reasons.
Openwrt has documentation on recommended routers, here: https://openwrt.org/toh/recommended_routers

I've seen a lot of people recommend Netgear R7800. Linksys e8450 and Belkin RT3200 in the higher end (AX support).
