Willing to pay FG for helping me buy a laptop.
I want to be able to play any game on it ( alot of call of duty MW3 ) without having to turn the graphics all the way down to minimum and having 20 fps.
Im willing to pay more if its a really good future-proof one but I was assuming middle of the road is best because laptops just tank in price immediately anyway.
I dont really know anything about computers, I dont know any of the brands really I dont know what is best I dont know much of anything.
Im happy with the desktop I have and if you want to compare I can post or pm the specs of it.

Thanks for the help.

If you don't throw out your maximum comfortable budget and want something 'future proof', I'm going to assume you're comfortable with spending $4k.

Something like the ROG Strix Scar 17 X3D will get you by for a couple years at least.

Sorry;
I was expecting to spend around 1300$ for a laptop I suppose, I dont really know. Im open to spending alot more if its an extremely good deal, or its a laptop that I could just have forever and I wont have to replace it for a real long time.

Costco was selling gaming laptops with 4070 and 16GB ram 17 inch screens. Think HP and MSI brands around $1300. Think the HP was $999.

I got a DELL G5 SE 5505 from 2020 and can still play almost all games maxed out or near maxed out at 1080P. I'd think the 4070 would be future proof for a long time unless you driving 4k resolutions. Thing can get HAWT and LOUD though, need the headphones.

That sounds really good knowing how big the 4090 is.

One thing to consider when gaming on a laptop is they do not use full desktop version of lets say a 4090, it will be a mobile version with less vram in fact there is a 30-40 % performance difference on laptops with these cards. Most laptops can handle new games without much issue and get good frames. I highly recommend getting a laptop with a mux switch. (if you plan on using a external gaming monitor)

My MSI Raider 87hx or whatever the current version is, is a 4090 with 64gb RAM. Game performance wise, it's a little bit worse than my desktop, which is a 3080ti. It's also so hot that if you do not run the fans at maximum while gaming, it will heat itself until it forces itself to turn off. Personally, I wouldn't go above a 4070ti if you want the best price / performance.
