Looking to get back into playing on PC with my oldest.
I just picked up a computer for him off fb marketplace with a 1080ti in it for like $400. All he plays is Roblox and Minecraft.

But I’m looking to build something mid/high end for myself.
Any suggestions on my build?
Was thinking of switching the cpu cooler out for something cheaper w/ lcd screen and then replace the fans it comes with, with more Lian Li fans

Invest in a better processor and gpu (7800x3d, Rtx 4070 etc), cooler is overkill, $50 one will do. Throwing in all those fans in a waste of money, case is a bit much imo.

How much better is the x3d?
Benchmark doesn’t look like it’s worth the extra $200

You will get a 25-30% performance bump over the 5800x you have in the build, that’s pretty significant, you can forgo those useless fans and cooler to recoup costs.

Even if you went with the 5800x3d, that would be a great CPU for years to come
And yes avoid the 2080 Ti unless you find it second hand for like $200-$300, it's a great card but at that price you may as well consider a 4070 Ti
Y60 case is very popular right now, if you want something beefy and aesthetically pleasing it's a great choice
Fans are really popular and look great

It's looking good, I'd just make a couple tweeks
