btc is all abot security not scalability, you still don't get it

i don't expect you to even understand how btc is a failure when it comes to security as you don't even know literally the most basic thing about blocks, how mining works and how it is what's securing the network

but here:
the fees that were supposed to be mined and going back to miners (to keep the incentive for them to secure the network) are being taken offchain by segwit, lightning network and whatnot
so after few more halvings, the mining reward will be so low, the electricity price so expensive that there wouldnt be any incentive left to mine, meaning, when long blocks like the one earlier will happen, miners will shut down their rigs to save up on electricity cost
leading to a lower nethash, leading to an even longer block since the difficulty readjustement is every 2016 blocks, so mining 2016 blocks on a difficulty way higher on a nethash way lower can have, not a 50mins long block but a 24 hours long block, when those happen even more miners will shutdown their rig to save up on electricity cost, leading to a week long block and so on
leading to a very low nethash, leaving the whole bitcoin network way more vulnerable to 51% attacks since the hashrate required to do those would be so much lower and so much less expensive since way less miners than there should be and it's highly centralized by being on ASICs anyways
not like everyday people could just turn on their phone to secure the network like monero does by being mined on CPU, which was satoshi's original vision, 1 CPU = 1 vote

So few mins ago I was clueless even tho you were confused about transfer and iniatation delay and now this.

right, am the confused one there...
Quote (Melatonina @ Jan 4 2024 06:16am)

You're confused

1 second: Remote wallet can see the transaction has been initiated
3 minutes 46 seconds: Remote wallet displays first confirmation of transaction appearing in the blockchain
26 minutes: Remote wallet receives 10 confirmations of the transaction and considers the funds fully confirmed and unlocked for spending

So pretty much any other confidential blockchain lmao

very confused yeppers...
Quote (Melatonina @ Jan 5 2024 01:06am)
Already told you that you're confused between initiating a transaction and finalizing transaction

so confused yeppers
Quote (Melatonina @ Jan 5 2024 12:57am)
Xmr transaction (when the network isn't overheated) is around 26 mins lmao.
You don't even understand the crypto you're shilling

alrighty then

nice rage post once again, in reality though the hashrate is always close to it's (newest) ath, price only goes up on long term which is why no miners are turning off

yeah sure btc is a failure that's why people like michel sailor are investing billions into it but not monero, stay mad karen

the keyword here was "after few more halvings"

by halving is when the block reward is getting halved (every ~4 years), when bitcoin started, the reward was 50 bitcoins per block, 4 years later 25 per blocks, then 12.5 and currently 6.25 and in about 3 months from now will be 3.125
then coming years will be down to 1.5625, then 0.78125 and so on which will be when the block reward will be lower than the fees themselves included in the block

fees are included in blocks when people are doing transactions with it
but since bitcoin is not to be used as a currency and in your own words a "store of value" that means even less transactions cause people not gonna send those, especially when a single transaction will be 100 bucks in fees and more, less people transacting, even less transactions, even less incentive to mine those blocks on expensive electricity

but good on some random celebrity that being like "numbers go up" for name dropping sheeps like yourself to yolo into a tech they don't understand

BTC <-> XMR atomic swap live in samourai wallet (popular bitcoin wallet):

https://nitter.net/SamouraiWallet/status/1747437833009144135

i personality wouldnt trade clean fungible monero for dirty bitcoins
but it's a good answer to centralized exchanges delistings, a decentralized way to onramp into monero with ease of use

You're the one delusional here, thinking xmr will be one day mass adopted via DEX lmao. The avg citizen will never use these things, too complicated. it is how it is and you have to deal with it.

yup, one click button on the phone in the wallet app is "too complicated" yeppers :bonk:

So much nothing for a news that nobody cares about beside a few mongoloïds shilling xmr

I still see no "one click button" and most my friends who got me in crypto 3 years ago still don't know/can't use anything in defi etc.

so the regular human using crypto for all day payments is not tomorrow, let alone if that would be done with xmr lmao

stay delusional karen

These people have been in crypto for 10 years and they still didn’t know the basics of proper security! He said that it wasn’t about money, but it was about freedom. BULLSHIT! They were blinded by the whole price go up greed! Because if it was about freedom, they would have understood the importance of fungibility and the proper security of their sensitive information! Just another BTC maxi who is looking for sympathy and attention so he can get money to buy BTC again. While still ignoring the failures of BTC and its non fungibility.
