Hello there,

I just have a couple of questions regarding my 2009 Computer that I just got my hands on after all this time and I know that it ain't worth shit but I still got it to run (needed a new 1TB HDD + Windows 7 pro)

anyway I just want to know why it doesn't turn on right away after pressing the power button but after pressing the restart button?

And something I have noticed is every time I change the time and date it keeps going back to 2009 (I tried changing it from Bios a couple of times but no use)..

Another thing is when I try to open any game (like Diablo II) it doesn't start right away unless I try a couple of times plus running it in computability mode.. Playing a video will make the video player crash as well or (not responding)

one more thing to mention is I bought the HDD that have windows operating system already installed in it but there is nothing else there like any app/programmes such as drivers updater or anything..

I don't know if I could solve the issue on my own using your guidance or I need to take it to the maintenance shop

Thank you in advance
And hope to find a solution

Note: the computer's specs are available if required.. let me know if it helps

I think you are too afraid to get a new one for d2r. You can get an Hp with ryzen and rx580 for 350 bucks. It runs all games on high smooth.

thank you for your suggestion my friend, I already have a new Laptop but I was wondering if I could fix the old PC and I kinda did by screwing with the cables (they were loose apparently)

You can reset the computer to see if it runs faster with the same operating system.

The date and time issue is the cmos battery, it needs replacing
Also, if its possible get an ssd instead
Also, im pretty sure preinstall windows on an hdd will not work as it has different boot kernal that are unqiue to each pc.

The loading issues could be the hdd being mess up also.

Edit: you cannot place ur old hdd with window into a different computer. But if its a fresh install, it should be fine. Just make sure its made bootable in the bios

Best advice would be spend whatever money you’d spend at a repair shop on a new tower. You can get an HP Z440 with a Xeon 1650 v4 and 16gb ddr4 for $150, throw in an rx580 for $50 or $110 for an rx5700xt. You’ll be able to run anything just fine.

Thank you for taking the time reading I really appreciate it
your information are very accurate that is exactly what is happening as for the windows copy its just not genuine so it works just fine

How ever as you said the HDD is messed up indeed and I am not going to replace anything cause not worth it at all .. It barley opens Chrome Browser and its choppy and laggy..
Thank you again guys for replying I Believe this can be closed now
