I think City's squad depth now is the worst they've had in years.

Our squad depth has always been an issue tbh. That’s where Peps love of versatility comes in. The narrative that City have a deep squad is crazy. We were 1 injury away from having to play Kalvin fucking Phillips.

Striker: Haaland/Alvarez
Wings: Alvarez/Foden/Grealish/Bernardo/Palmer
Midfielders: Kevin/Foden/Kovacic/Bernardo/Rodri
CBs: Dias/Stones/Gvardiol/Akanji/Ake/Walker
RBs: Walker/Stones/Lewis/Akanji
LBs: Ake/Gvardiol/Akanji

LMAO

I don’t I think I’m wrong on this one. City generally have a price in mind when they want someone and if they can’t get them at that price they’re happy to walk away. Our purchases have been brilliant.

united's transfer windows these days are the wildest to me, even though liverpool's caicedo transfer gives them a run for their money in terms on big money spent on solid potential. if hojlund gets on a scoring streak early (he really has some high quality support in that squad), he could become an absolute banger, but his dud potential is much higher than, for instance, darwin nunez' was imo, as the latter was way more prolific and proven when the reds signed him...

holy shit, that's a lot of quality / big names leaving the club all at once...

ya, i also think arsenal did some fantastic deals this time around. i might even have to re-evaluate my premier league expectations for this season. just three months ago i thought arsenal would have "only" the 4th strongest squad on paper (behind city, liverpool, chelski) but at this point i wouldn't be shocked at all if you guys finished 2nd again (still expect city to dominate the league)...

Yup, I agree. 2nd place feels like a "minimum" for us now, which is a great feeling to have.
Wouldn't mind a nice CL run too however.

As AC Milan fan... Gutted to loose Tonali and Maldini...
But what a crazy window we got real quality depth in many areas. 10/10 transfer window...

Just need Origi gone so I don't get scared gambling on Milan wins 😅

You know what, there is probably a chance he is better right now than Lavia and Caicedo. But he's 10 years older than them.

I'm ok with this transfer as long as it's supplemented with another DM who is younger and high quality

very solid central mid in a lower tier bundesliga club. can't say i've seen him play too often, but in the games against us (against mainz in the bundesliga as well as against germany in the world cup) he was very good, unfortunately. tactically clever, surprisingly physical, clean short passing, not particularly quick, good vision, unselfish. definitely one of stuttgart's better players and perfectly understandable why he was their captain. probably impossible to replace for them adequately short term.

Lavia maybe, Caicedo would highly doubt that

With KdB gone for couple of months, someone must step up in the midfield.
