Topic: Most people agree that Transmuting as a whole sucks in its current state. I was never around for the old version for it, and I'm not suggesting to go back to that way either.

Problem: I think one of the biggest problems is no one can even transmute a level 55 yet. So lets discuss how it would be fair for people to attempt level 55 transmutes before 2012.

Possible fair Solution: Maybe a decent solution would be to make a new table of whats possible to mute for each level, and also to add something else into the mix, a cool down. By level 14 you I think it would be fair to be able to transmute a Magical tier 14, however it would be a once a day attempt. Increasing levels in transmuting would effect magical prefix as well as allow more attempts per day. How much or how fast it increase could be determined by Njaguar. But I think the idea itself is solid.

On topic, I agree that muting as a proficiency is fine...but it's a skill that actively resists a market, which needs to be changed imo.
If an arcane lvl 55 item has a ~10% chance to come back as an arcane essence, then I can't see it being worth all that much more fg.
I really think paul needs to address the fact that people who are new and interested in playing the game have no way to advance themselves at any reasonable rate.
True you can work yourself up 1 fg at a time, but that would take years.

I think items should come back with the same magical property essence, or there should be a greater chance of that happening.
As of now I can't see any reason to start transmuting.
