Hello!

I have got 2 suggestions about posting features that might be helpful to keep this site cleaner and make the forum run more smoothly:

(I already searched the sticky suggestions and the suggestion forum but i didnt found anything similar to this, but if there exists something then i am sorry i have no intend to make useless double posts!)

-----------------------------------

1. Editing Time Period

2. Deleting Own Postings

-----------------------------------

#1. I have recently thought about the possibility of having a bigger time frame to edit posts that i made. I see myself often in the situation of making a new trade thread with a huge list of items and sometimes it takes its time

before the first ppl try and buy some items. Instead of having to make a new update reply (which is often a mere +1 - if just 1 item got traded) i would rather edit my own first post again (because thats the first thing ppl see

when they come into my thread). What i am thinking of here is a feature that allows you to decide wether to make a normal thread (30 minutes editing time), a daily thread (24 hours editing time) or a monthly thread

(30 days of editing time) - something like that.

I think that would allow more ppl to post their offers in a trade thread because the owner of that thread doesnt have to make anymore update replys - this would require a certain specific coloring of the thread ofc or some

small sign / icon that indicates what thread this is! (They could be named differently - like "auctioning thread" 30m / "shopping thread" 24h / "storage thread" 30d!)

Specially for user blogs this would be fantastic - f.ex. just having a "private" blog with just 1 post that you can update in every way you like and whenever you like?

Because usually when the time passes ppl grow more ambitious and think of more graphical or designing aspects to personalize their profile / blogs

and this would be the way to even personalize older posts / thread to a new standard!

#2. I think this would be generally a good idea, because if ppl got the ability to delete their own postings it could help decreasing the spam rate or the rate of junk posts / double posts / early bumps and with that

ofc the amount of reports too. From my own "small" experience i had some situations where i bid on an item and in the next moment i saw another item that interested me more, so instead of editing my post

saying "i retract" or having to create a new post because the editing time expired i would just delete my old post and with that i myself can manage to reduce the amount of "garbage" that i produce!

What do you think of my ideas?

Edit time won't be changed. That just opens up more scam opportunitys.
Users don't need to delete their own posts, that'll open up alot of problem users making bad posts and then removing them after a few people see it.

Going to have to say no.

editing time:
it's fine as it is. 4 hours for a new post are not too long.

deleting own posts:
no. could lead to more scams.
