Ok, so I have been playing Diablo II on and off for the past ten years, I even beta tested Diablo II: LOD and been to several Blizzcon events...sad to say I actually love the game and the tons of variations items in it can have.. So, if anyone here is remotely intelligent and cares about Diablo II enough to follow the reset details from reliable trusted Diablo II community resources (OFFICIAL BLIZZARD EMPLOYEES - Blue forum posters) then I would suggest that you all go to google search engine, look up blizzard's official website. On the website you will be able to choose Diablo II as a game, go to the community forums section and under general discussion you will see several "spam" threads regarding the upcoming possibility of Diablo II ladder reset, and the assumed date of which expecting to be roughly end of September 2011. However, after reading the tons of bullshit newbie posts on there you will finally see some official blue blizzard posts from our trusted old friend Bashiok, some of which stating the following:
I know I joke around on here and spam a bunch, even make some joke stuff with photoshop but this is a real piece of a screenshot no editing, check for yourselves on the above mentioned official blizzard website forums if you think this is BS. This does sadden me a little, was looking forward to starting a new with ya'll westies since I didnt get to really play this reset much but I guess it is time to stop holding onto the FG and maybe me posting this will bring some awareness to people about what is really going on with the ladder reset.
Also some other stuff on the forums regarding possible Diablo II reset holdoff / reasoning suggests that it might be due to available space on the current battle.net servers we play on. As we all know blizzard is currently working on the long awaited beta testing of Diablo III. Also for those of you who do not follow the Diablo III development, Blizzard does intend to keep Diablo III free to play online for everyone over the battle.net engine, however server space we all know is not infinite so for this to be possible they might have to reduce some of the battle.net server space currently available for Diablo II, to open up additional space for Diablo III beta development. They are probabily looking at the total volume of clients playing Diablo II currently and doing some analysis which is delaying the ladder reset period for Diablo II.
Hope my insight helps you guys, if you want to see any resources I looked at or want to chat about any of this, shoot me a PM I will do the best I can to help ya'll out and give you the information I have.
Again this post is not intented as spam, it is to bring awareness to the limited USWest Hardcore community
