What is this list about?

You dont know what your items are worth and seek for help?
You received a price check and are not sure if its correct?

This list is shall be an additional offer to help especially beginners to get an idea what their items are worth.


General Information about price checks

At first, some general matters about price checks:

The market is not a solid construction, but a floating one.
This means, prices can and will change from day to day or even from hour to hour depending on things such as:
  • number of similar items available at this time
  • price of similar items at this time
  • general interest in an item
  • how many people recognize your item
  • how many people need and bid on your item on that special day
  • ...

This supply and demand has a very strong influence on the worth of an item.
Thus, you can NEVER rely on a price check to 100%, it is just impossible to make such predictions.

But you should take price checks as a kind of guide line to get a rough idea what an item is worth.
By means of their experience and very frequent trading or market activity, we have users who have a very good idea of the market situation.
Others who do not trade very frequent or just started the game, may not have this.

What does this mean for this list?

Hence, this service is meant to help you on that matter.

The users on this list are agreed on as experienced and reliable price checkers who are usually answering request posts in the price checking forums.

Please note that people who are NOT listed here, are not generally meant to be bad price checkers or not allowed to give any price checks then.
This list is NOT a license to be allowed to give price checks, but a help service for people to be able to judge price checks better.
People not on the list may have not applied for this yet, so do not generally ignore their price checks.

BUT if you can see a person is NOT listed here, you should take their price checks with a certain degree of caution and not trust them blindly.
However, this caution, for the reasons relating the market situation stated above, should be activated generally :)

In the following links, you can find some help how to estimate the worth of an item.

Especially mutables usually have a very similar worth and as they are very common, you can use the market to get an impression of their value.
If you have such items that can be checked easily on yourself, you should try to do this.

There is a large number of people seeking for price checks, but just a small number of price checkers and resulting from these it is very hard for them

Please do NOT contact people on this list with your price check questions in any other way then listed here, but use the official forums/ways for it.


As you know, there is just a small number of price checkers around in comparison to a huge and steadily growing number of people seeking for price checks.

So before you make a request, check twice if this is worth to be requested or if you can check it yourself e.g. through the market place easily.

Read this help made by przy before you make a request:



  • Make a clear topic title: Need price check
  • Make a clear topic description: Iso multiple opinions
  • Make a clear post of items: In a list format with 2-3 spaces between each item


    Courtesies

  • Track your topic: Reference for later!
  • 12 hour bump rule: Please respect it. Your topic will be seen.
  • Multiple opinions: Write your needs in to your topic title or description OR bump your topic 12 hours later requesting a second opinion
  • Thank yous: Please keep thank yous / appreciated to private messages. It moves your topic to the top again and it creates other topics to move down!
  • Item lists: Try to keep your item lists manageable. 5 items per price check topic would not deter attention!
  • Formatting: Try to copy full statistics from the character the item is on to ensure proper listing and all modifiers are included.




Who can use this service?

Every Ladder Slasher player seeking for help to get an estimated value of the prices of his items can use this. It is totally free.
BUT use this service conscientious please.


What do i have to do?

If you have an item you want to have price checked or received a price check on an item,
you can check on this list whether he is an agreed helper or not so you can judge his check better and eventually wait for another one.



What to do if my price checker is not on this list?

A price checker being not on the list is not generally a bad price checker. He just may not have applied for the list for instance.
But if your price checker is not on this list, you should take his advice with a degree of caution.

Unfortunately, there have been a growing number of extremely unsuitable price checks in the last couple of days and weeks which lead to
massive problems especially for beginners and unexperienced users.
This is the reason for this list to be established to control this situation at least to a certain extent.

The List is set in alphabetical order, you can find the

  • and the way(s) to contact

    each person below.

Possible ways are:

Via price checking thread(s)
Via PM
Via IRC
Via Ventrilo
Via teamspeak
Via MSN: always on request only
Via AIM: always on request only


Inactive players will be removed as the market is changing rapidly.

Important note to the users on the list:

Being on the list demands responsibility and honesty.
Throughout the time, the council will inspect if these values are fulfilled or not.

As a price checker on this list and also in general terms,
you should always behave correctly and not abuse your position for personal profit
e.g. checking items low to bid on them yourself or make friends bid on them for you.
If you want an item, do NOT price check it to prevent this!

For the case the values are not fulfilled any more, you will be removed from the list.

I saw an error/incorrect data on the list, what to do?


Drop a pm to NaRa who will forward this to the person with administrative rights, do NOT directly pm Paparick, he will focus on posting the ready code sent to him!

I want to be on this list as well, what do i have to do?


Due to the massive amount of requests, part of them unfortunately not suitable for various reasons:
  • such as lack of experience (played/registered just for a few weeks),
  • dishonest motivation for being on the list
  • and also lack of good manners e.g. how to write a proper application introducing yourself without flaming others

The system will look like this:


A council of respected, honorable and experienced/active users will decide which application will be approved and which will not.

Applications can be send to NaRa

These applications will be collected and added to a list of applicants.

Once in a week ( set for now ), the council will meet to vote on these people from that list.

Possible votes are:
  • YES ( accepted to the list )
  • NO ( not accepted to the list )
  • Null Vote (I do not know this person and can not judge him)


In either case, the council members can give as detailed comments reasoning their vote as they want to.

An application needs a majority of at least 51 % YES votes in order to be accepted.
  • If the majority is reached, we will inform the person to receive an entry to the list with the weekly update
    ( usually 2-3 days after the council )

  • If the majority is not reached, but there are several null votes,
    we will inform the person that we generally do not know much about him and thus are not able to judge him.
    The person has the chance to introduce himself better e.g. by a more detailed application with information about him,
    helping in the official forums/irc/ladder slasher etc during the next couple of weeks or adding quotes where he helped others with price checks e.g. via pm.
    Afterwards the person can receive a new chance to write an application for the next month or when he feels ready for it.

  • If a person reaches a majority of NO votes, he will not have the chance to apply during the next couple of weeks,
    as we think he is not suitable to be listed there for certain reasons.
    We will inform the person of the result and our reasoning in an objective and constructive way,
    so the person has the chance to improve as well and may apply some time later.



  • In any case, we will neither post the exact numbers of the vote nor argue on it.

    The results themselves will not be made public, but being told to each applicant via pm.

  • Do not ask for the members of the council nor try to ask/spam someone you think is a member.
    It will be secret to prevent any form of spam and you can not influence the vote this way.


How should i apply?



To introduce yourself to the members, you should write a detailed and especially honest application.
The people from the council will probably have seen you around before if you have been active,
but it helps a lot to hear some thoughts from the person him/herself.


Things to consider in this application are for instance:

  • How long have you been around here, what have you done in the past?
  • Do you have special fields you are experienced in?
  • Which mode do you play and for how long?
  • In which guild are you currently (and why) ?
  • How often do you play?
  • Which language(s) do you speak fluently?
  • How can we contact you ( pm, msn, aim, irc, vent, ts... )
  • Add at least 5 exemplary price checks you have made in the past week



Ask yourself a couple of questions that should be answered in this application:

  • Am I experienced enough to do this?
    Having played a couple of minutes or trading just very seldom make it harder to give good advice.
    You always have to remember one thing: The people seeking for help rely on your answer and trust you.
    It does not help to spam any numbers, you should know what you are talking about.
    If you are not able to give helpful answers, you will cause severe problems for the person that asked for help.


  • Do i have enough time for this?
    Many people have jobs or other stuff to do and prefer spending the rare time they have with their (guild) mates, playing the game.
    It will most likely eat a lot of time being on this list and receiving several requests a day.


  • Why do i want to do this?
    You should have a personal motivation on why you want to do this.
    You will neither receive fg nor fame for this and if this is your motivation this is not the right thing for you.

Answer this questions for yourself first of all and if you are not satisfied with them, others wont probably be either.

This list does not make you a better person or is the license to help or be allowed to help.
You can of course help others without being on this list if you want to help.

You can additionally of course link to threads were you helped in the past,eventually guides you wrote or
add copies of helpful quotes if you mainly help via pm.
