Found this quite interesting
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0002934313002003

Conclusions
We found that marijuana use was associated with lower levels of fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, and smaller waist circumference.

Do you feel that THC. strictly THC. no plant matter whatsoever, is actually healthy for you?
Personally I do. I find it the equivalent of drinking tea.

i don't consider the risk of psychosis - which is indisputably a fact - to be very healthy at all

OP, you're reaching. Hugely. If you want to smoke something, knock yourself out. But don't waste your time trying to rationalize a bad habit.

it's easy to rationalize something as everyday as marijuana use.

just look at all the other shit you do daily that can end your life instantly....christ sake driving a car makes marijuana use a non-issue by itself.

The study you link is taking into account for cannabis use, not the specific compound THC. To answer your question, is a little complicated. There is many compounds found in cannabis. I'll just talk about the two most important cannabinoids naturally found in cannabis.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) the primary psychoactive component of the cannabis plant and contributes to high feeling one gets when using cannabis. THC effects can be dissociative and anxiogenic for some people.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is not psychoactive. CBD blunts the worst of the effects of THC when its coadministered. Recent evidence shows that smokers of cannabis with a higher CBD/THC ratio were less likely to experience psychotic-like effects. This is supported by psychological tests, in which participants where given intravenous THC and CBD in controlled ammounts. This has also been shown in studies where they go out test the different types of cannabis people have and the ones with higher levvels of CBD in them, people report less of the negative symptoms of THC. This has also been seen in animal studies. CBD appears to relieve convulsion, inflammation, anxiety, nausea, and is also found to have antidepressant, anxiolytic, and neuroprotective effects.

Some strains of cannabis have higher amounts of THC and lower amounts of CBD. Some strains have low THC and high in CBD and some are somewhere in between. Medical cannabis breeders can selectively breed for certain traits and have the cannabinoid levels tested, leading to the development of new strains with higher CBD levels. With that being said, I feel that THC may be healthy for most people in certain amounts. THC can have an unhealthy effect on people with certain pre existing psychological problems and may trigger psychosis in these people. As current research stands, CBD is looking to be very healthy for people. THC is probably healthy for most people.

Do I feel cannabis is healthy to consume? Yes, but in moderation.
Do I feel THC alone is healthy? Probably not.

Solid argument... Except for all the reasons that it is stupid to compare car use to drug use...
