it comes close to it, if you follow the projected course...and if a force, we did not caculate into the equation changes it just a little. it could hit mars

well for a celestial object that is close. and I don't calculate much..I will admit that no worries m8.. But if you say it is not close, then you know nothing.

close is a value judgement. The fact is that it is projected to pass at about double the distance (from Mars) of what is considered noteworthy for object passing near the Earth. And the Earth is 9 times as massive as Mars.... This object will not collide with Mars.

changes a little in direction, is all that is needed. It is the timing of the pass, that makes it closer and worth watching.
