C'mon guys, think outside the box. If Earth reflects too much sunlight to see the background stars, then take a look at the Earth from the opposite side

Don't know if that's real, though.

wouldn't the sun be hanging out on the opposite side?

I always see pictures of earth from astronauts/machines but I never see stars in the background.
Does such a picture exist?
I just want to know what it looks like

You can see it here, at 3:45. Pretty high def.

I thought so too, but it does sort of make sense. The light ring around the Earth is the atmosphere bending sunlight slightly around the Earth, so even if you don't get direct sunlight, you do would still expect there to be SOME light there.

The sun is about the size of your thumb if you point your thumb at it. From the right spot in outer space it's easy to imagine a place where you couldn't see the Sun in the background.

The video I posted above demonstrates this. It shows the earth from orbit during daytime and you can't see any stars.

Then it transitions to the sun setting, and without any light pollution reflected off earth you can stars quite clearly.

might be doable if you mess with the exposure time of different parts of the field of view, but yeah not possible without doing some fudging.

ya too many people would pass those colorful galaxies off as stars lol... u can see galaxies in such a small picture of earth. u have to zoom in a tremendous amount further just to see galaxies as they are seen here
