My name is Mike and my specialty has always been a V/t. There is no 'perfect' build for a v/t as it it stat'd to your dueling preference. I will discuss mytake on the V/t.

Gear

Helmets:

141 Shako w Ber rune. - Obvious choice, 2 skills, 18dr total, life/mana boosts.
Perfect Coa w Berx2 Runes - Secondary helm when using your bm setup with exile

Amulets:

30 res Maras- Why not a rare? They look nice and allow you to str bug maybe, but remember you lose 2 levels of bo.And the 30 all resists helps stack your resists.

Weapons:

6 BO Cta in a 3 FoH/3Conviction base- This is obviously the only choice. You can just use a regular cta if u dont plan to foh on cta side.
Grief Pb - Your Main weapon of choice. Hits max ias w fanatacism alone+ decent smite speed while frozen(via holy freeze)
Grief Zerker- This should only be used against really pesky bvcs, you wont need the range anywhere else. Keep in mind you need 20ias gloves to hit the max smite speed with zerker.

-Why not zerker only?
Although it does inflict more damage with an attack and has a range of 3 as oppossed to phase blade's 2, its range causes it to hit with charge less frequently resulting in a lot of 'whiffs'. Also, the damage won't be
noticably weaker since you're not a charger w synergies and whatnot.

Gloves:

.08 rare dual stat/life gloves- These are by far the best choice as a v/t. I use Glyph Grip War Gauntlets.
crafted 20ias/dex/life gloves. - you need that 20ias for using a zerker, and of course, strength, 10% cb and resists would be a godly bonus.

Armors:

Enigma - No other armor to use as a main. The type you can wear depends on your glove choice and final choice on amulet. I use Mage Plate
Treachury- Use for fade and bm. Use in a light armor like bp or mp.

Belts:

Verdungo 40vit/15dr - More dr and a decent life boost.
tgods - For sorbing those pesky farcasters or annoying trapsins.

Rings:

2x Perfect Ravenfrosts - Cannot be frozen, plus 20 dex. Use 1 as a main, and 2 vs blizz sorcs that give you trouble.
1x Bk - 1 to skills+ life bonus. Use with1x raven
20% Absorb Wisp - For obvious reasons.
1x Dwarf- to sorb fire sorcs that are an annoyance.

Boots:

65 life Waterwalks - 15 dex, and 65 life, + 5%more fire res. The perfect boots for a v/t.
Hotspurs - If u need fire stack(although u may need to use zerker grief while using spurs.)

Shields:

Spirit Sacred Targe - Your bo shield. Aim for a 35fcr one for looks...
Up'd Herald of Zakuram w Ber rune - This is ultimatly the best gm smite shield out there. skills, stats, and a consistent damage.This also brings your dr to 49% in gm setup.
Eth Exile Vortex Shield- This shield is for bm setup. Also gives you a nice defense boost, but keep in mind you will lose block.
Eth Exile Sacred Targe(optional) -Same mods as above, but with a chance to block. The offset is the lower damage possibility.

Inventory:

9x 45life Paladin Combat Skills - Only way to go for gcs....
20/20 Torch- Obv
20/20/x Anni- Obv..
10x 20/5all res and/or 20/11light res scs. - I personally use 20/11's for the light stack.


Stats



Strength- 0.
Dex - Enough to wield a pb and all your switch gear.
Vitality- All the Rest
Energy - Respec if you put a point here

Skills

Defensive auras:

Salvation-1pnt. helps stack extra res if needed.

Offensive Auras:

Fanatacism-20pnts
Conviction- 1pnt Dont bother aiming for 150%, ur not a full foher, or an auradin...
Holy Shock: ??
Combat Skills:

Holy Shield- 20pnts Cuz an unholy shield is lame
Smite- ??
Foh-??

After you have all prerequistes, and all the above skills maxed/1 pointed, it will be up to you on how you split your points into foh, holy shock, and smite.
My Smite is 3.1k and thats with a base level of 16. add into smite until the damage suits you. When you come to foh and holy shock though, its best to split the
remaining points as opossed to doing 20 into foh, 5 into shock or whatever. My Foh is 15 and Shock is 20, giving me 4.7k foh on grief side w hoz.if u max smite though
and are level 96 like me, you will have 4 less points for foh/shock and i suggest a 13/18 split or 14/17. Tweak your v/t until it suits your play style.

looks like most v/t
i would not max holy shield, its lower damage (only onscrean fake damage) and this 16k defend can be 12k or whatever, it not adds mass win chance anywhy.

you have 0% fcr, no lt, low def, low dmg, ba vs bvcs

so basicly everything is horrible

it just shows he chance to block of 75%. my gloves add alot of def since they are in 106 str req gloves. AS of yet i havent even heard of a v/t in west that maxessmite instead and does holy shield last..
