Recently I took the time to help my fellow gamers to inform them of the + 6 nado pelt lie.

This was not only not appreciated, but ridiculed by most players who have no concept of this game.

They attempted to draw me into an argument about + 5 pelts when it was about + 6 pelts.

They felt that the analysis was to simple to be accurate.

You can see that post here:

http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=46118651&f=87

Here is your unsimplified analysis of +5 nado pelts fail

you stupid noobs.

Some people think that the full build must be considered when comparing pelts. This is false, but that's ok. Let's consider the full build:

Our goal is 163% FCR Using +5 Nado Pelt

Gear options:

Sheild = Spirit (35% fcr)
Ammy = +2 Druid 20% Fcr
Ring = 10% fcr (20 fcr)
belt = arach (20 fcr)
glove = magefist or trang (20 fcr)
feet = you can't have fcr mod on feet
weapon = wiz or suicide branch (50 fcr)
helmet = pelts can't have fcr
Armor = enigma (this doesn't have fcr)

FCR = 165

These are your only options to achieve 163% fcr using a pelt

We now must determine skill point adds.

+ to all skills:

Sheild = Spirit (+2)
Ammy = You can't have a +2 All Skills and 20% FCR
Ring = You can't have a 10% Fcr + All Skills ring
Belt = Arach (+1)
Glove = neither mage fist or trangs will give + all skills
feet = you cant have + all skills on boots
weapon = Let's assume +1 with suicide branch
helmet = a +5 nado pelt can't have + all skills mod
Armor = Enigma (+2)
Anni = + 1 to all skills

Total + All Skills = 7

+ to druid skills:

Sheild = +0
Ammy = +2
Ring = +0
Belt = +0
Glove = +0
feet = +0
weapon = +0
helmet = +2
torch = + 3

Total + to Druid Skills = 7

CTA.

CTA has +1 on it. Assuming you use suicide branch, when you switch for bo the +1 will change nothing.

Assume a + 6 BO CTA

Your BO = + 7 All Skills + Battle Command (+1) + 6 from CTA

Your BO = 14

LvL 14 BO = 74 % to life

Your oak sage will be +7 from all skills + 1 Battle Command and + 7 druid skills

Your Oak Sage = + 14

Your lvl 34 oak sage = 195 % to life

Calculating Stat point distribution:

Strength:

In order to calculate this we must assume cLvL. Let us assume cLvL = 95 for our discussion.

Shield = Req 156 Str

Base Str = 15
Anni = 20 str
Torch = 20 str
Enigma = (95 x 0.75) = 71.25 (this gets truncated)

Ring = lets assume you have two 20 str rings

This gives you enough str to carry your heaviest item (shield.) 15 + 20 + 20 + 71 + 20 + 20 = 166.

Dexterity:

There are two build options that we must consider, and one other alternative option. One is max block, the other max vita, and the alternative is max sheild block.

Max Vita Requires no dex

Max Block Requires 245 Dex at cLvL 95 on a druid, assuming that it is not an error in the LCS.

We must calculate how many hard Dex point investments that this will require.

Your total dex from items could possibly be:

Base Dex = 20
Pelt = 20
ammy = 20
ring = 15 x 2
boots = 25 (shadow dancers (require 167 str. a str mod on your ammy will correct this margin of error)
anni = 20
torch = 20

So assuming you have a the most godly stats items possible in every respect this total equals 155

So in order to determine how many dex points must be invested to reach max block take 155 away from 245.

This equals 90

In order to achieve max shield block (42%) you would require 144 dex. Since 155 is slightly over 144 I will not go into detail on this. It does not effect stat point distribution options.

At cLvL 95 you will have a total of 5 x (cLvL - 1) + (stats Q x 3) stats to invest. This is equal to 485 stat points.

If you are max block you have 485 - 90 stats to invest in vita. If you are not max block you have 485 stats to invest in vita.

Vitality:

Calculating total base life (before BO or Oak Sage)

In order to calculate this we must assume 2 variables. These being cLvL and stat point distribution. For our comparison let us assume cLvL 95 and X into vita.

Add: Starting life + Life Gained Per cLvL + Anya Pot Q (x3) + x

Starting life = 55
Life Gained Per cLvL = 1.5 x (cLvL - 1)
Anya Pot Q = 20
Stat Point Distribution = x

55 + (1.5 x (95 - 1)) + (20 x 3) + x = 256 + x

For max block x = 395 x 2 = 790
For max vita x = 485 x 2 = 970

Total base life:

Max block: 1046
Max Vita: 1226

Now we can add life from items:

1) pelt = 60
2) ammy = 60
3) rings = 40 x 2
4) boots = 0
5) belt = 0
6) gloves = 0
7) sheild = 0
8) armor = 0
9) weapon = 40
10) 45 to life gcs x 9 = 405
11) 20 to life scs x 10 = 200

total life from items = 845

total base life for max block = 1891
total base life for max vita = 2071

Now we can determine how oak sage and BO will effect life:

lvl 14 BO or 74% + LvL 34 Oak Sage or 195% = 269%

we must add 100% to 269% because the 269% is in addition to base life:

Total life with BO and OS for max block = 369% of 1891 = 6977

Total life with BO and OS for max vita = 369% of 2071 = 7641

We also need consider % Max Life and + Vita
% max life from items = 5% (enigma)

for max block 5% max life = 94
for max vita 5% max life = 103

+ vita = 40 (torch and anni)

+ 22 vita from spirit

+ life from vita for both max block and max vita builds = 124

When adding this to our equation we end up with total life.

Total Life:

Max block = 7195
Max Vita = 7868

And Finally the druids dmg:

We have 7 to all skills
We have 7 to Druid skills
we have 9 to elemental skills from gcs
we have 3 to tornado from the pelt

7 + 7 + 9 + 3 = 26

Plus 20 base skills = lvl 46 nado

LvL 46 tornado does 6150 - 6457 dmg

LvL 46 tornado does 1025 - 1076 pvp dmg

Applying the same method as above let us consider the following damage table:

Oppenent Max Dmg.....Penalty:.....Resistance:....Damage:.....Resistance:....Damage:....3 Lo's Dmg:

Windy:.....7200 phy...1/6 = 1200........50%............600..............42%............696..............696

Hdin:.... 18681 mag...1/6 = 3113.........0%............3113..............X.................X...............3113

Foh:.......6024 Light...1/6 = 1004........75%.............251.............90%............100...............100

Trapsin:14382(x5)Lit..1/10 =7191........75%.........359 (x5)..........90%...........143 (x5)......143 (x5)

Orb Sor:.965 (-250cr).1/6 = 160...........75%............40...............90%............16.................40

Light Sorc:.47393 lit...1/6 = 7898..........75%..........1974..............90%...........789..............789

Fire Sorc:..23068 f.....1/6 = 3844..........75%............961..............90%...........384..............961

Bone Nec: 5492 mag..1/6 = 915.............0%............915................x................x...............915

Psn Nec: 11264 Psn...1/6 = 1877/2secs..75%............469...............x................x................469

Assume your oppenent has 50% DR.
In this case your dmg is now: 512 - 538

Some people argue that resistance on a druid is not needed because his cyclone armor will absorb the damage. Is this true?

Firstly, what level cyclone armor would you have using a + 5 pelt and having 163% fcr?

We have 7 to all skills
We have 7 to Druid skills
we have 9 to elemental skills from gcs

this is a lvl 23 cyclone armor + 20 skill point base

or rather a lvl 43 CA

LvL 43 CA = 2828 Absorb

Reference damage table:

2828 CA - 7898 Light Sorc Dmg = negative 5070
2828 CA - 3844 Fire Sorc Dmg = negative 1016
2828 CA - 7191 Trap Sin dmg = negative 4363
0000 CA - 1877 Poison Necro Dmg = negative 1877

So what is the "negative number?"

The negative number is the amount of life removed from your characters total life.

What if a sorceress has as little as 2000 life?

If you had an equal duel (hitting each other an equal amount of times) She only needs to hit you twice. You must hit her 2000 / 512 = 4 to 2000 / 538 = 4 times.

The applied damage to

survivability probably is 2:4

In fact if you calculate this builds total resistance it is less then zero. If you consider the sorc will have light facets in addition to this the Sorc is favored to win by more then 150%.

Hence verifying the established need for resistance on a druid.

Let us assume you were to use a different pelt. How much dmg would you do if you removed + 3 tornado from your pelt?

This would be a lvl 43 tornado.

LvL 43 tornado does 5612 - 5900 dmg
LvL 43 tornado does 935 - 983 dmg

after 50% DR 467 - 491 dmg

How much additional dmg can you sustain with 30% light resistance, but having 60 less boable life?

2828 CA - 7898 Light Sorc Dmg = 5070
5070 x 0.70 = 3594

Total Life:

Max block = 7195 / 3594 > 2 = the amount of hits you will survive
Max Vita = 7644 / 3594 > 2 = the amount of hits you will survive

How does your new dmg effect a light sorc?

2000 / 467 = 5 to 2000 / 491 = 5 times

This means that the dmg to
survivability ratio has increased 3:5

In this case the sorc is favored to win by 140% in terms of damage as apposed to 150%.
This is using jalal's, and assuming the strength mod is useless.

Some small notes:

1) The difference in life between a 60 life added to BO and 20 hard vita points (from 20 dex in a pelt) verses none = 7824 - 7600 = 224
2) when oak sage is lvl 36 and bo is lvl 16 applied to max vita build base life = 205% + 80% + 100% = 7966
3) 7966 life + 142 (shako) + 2 vita = 8112 life
4) shako has 10% physical resistance
5) jalal's is better then the most godly +5 nado pelt by a factor of 10% unless that pelt has a resistance mod. In which case you can solve for x yourself
6) shako provides as much as 244 more life then a +5 pelt with 60 life
7) The difference in average tornado dmg used in this assessment, between lvl 46 and lvl 43, is 46 life.
8) your all noobs.

So assuming you have a the most godly stats items possible in every respect this total equals 155

Stat Point Distribution = x

55 + (1.5 x (95 - 1)) + (20 x 3) + x = 256 + x

For max block x = 395 x 2 = 790
For max vita  x = 485 x 2 = 970

Total base life:

Max block: 1046
Max Vita:  1226

Now we can add life from items:

Now we can determine how oak sage and BO will effect life:

lvl 14 BO or 74% + LvL 34 Oak Sage or 195% = 269%

we must add 100% to 269% because the 269% is in addition to base life:

Total life with BO and OS for max block = 369% of 1891 = 6977

Total life with BO and OS for max vita  = 369% of 2071 = 7641

When adding this to our equation we end up with total life.

They felt that the analysis was to simple to be accurate.

You can see that post here:

Here is your unsimplified analysis of +5 nado pelts fail

you stupid noobs.

Some people think that the full build must be considered when comparing pelts. This is false, but that's ok. Let's consider the full build:

Our goal is 163% FCR Using +5 Nado Pelt

Gear options:

Sheild = Spirit (35% fcr)
Ammy = +2 Druid 20% Fcr
Ring = 10% fcr (20 fcr)
belt = arach (20 fcr)
glove = magefist or trang (20 fcr)
feet = you can't have fcr mod on feet
weapon = wiz or suicide branch (50 fcr)
helmet = pelts can't have fcr
Armor = enigma (this doesn't have fcr)

FCR = 165

These are your only options to achieve 163% fcr using a pelt

We now must determine skill point adds.

+ to all skills:

Sheild = Spirit (+2)
Ammy = You can't have a +2 All Skills and 20% FCR
Ring = You can't have a 10% Fcr + All Skills ring
Belt = Arach (+1)
Glove = neither mage fist or trangs will give + all skills
feet = you cant have + all skills on boots
weapon = Let's assume +1 with suicide branch
helmet = a +5 nado pelt can't have + all skills mod
Armor = Enigma (+2)
Anni = + 1 to all skills

Total + All Skills = 7

+ to druid skills:

Sheild = +0
Ammy = +2
Ring = +0
Belt = +0
Glove = +0
feet = +0
weapon = +0
helmet = +2
torch = + 3

Shield = Req 156 Str

Base Str = 15
Anni = 20 str
Torch = 20 str
Enigma = (95 x 0.75) = 71.25 (this gets truncated)

Pelt = 20
ammy = 20
ring = 15 x 2
boots = 25 (shadow dancers (require 167 str. a str mod on your ammy will correct this margin of error)
anni = 20
torch = 20

Light Sorc:.47393 lit...1/6 = 7898..........75%..........1974..............90%...........789..............789
