ive heard time and again that grief > all other weapons, but where is the proof?
i plan to use with one handed whirlwind and fort
how is this true damage calculated with deadly strike?
the reason i am asking this is death cleaver has an extra -8% target defense which can obviously mean a lot
once i have this foruma ill write a basic calculating script to see how effective 35 ds with grief is vs 81 ds with death cleaver in relation to overall damages several hundred times
thanks
Here are the stats (taken from a damage calculator). Using 300 off weapon EDmg, and 200 Strength, the weapon damages are:
Grief Berserker Axe (15EDmg,400 Damage): 2562 - 2886 (avg. 2724)
With 35% DS: 3458 - 3896 (avg. 3677)
EDC (Ethereal, 280 EDmg): 816 - 2412 (avg. 1614)
With 81% DS: 1476 - 4365 (avg. 2920)
Given these results, Grief is better.
However, these numbers do not account for more off weapon damage, skill damage (whirlwind), mastery bonuses, elemental damage, more strength, etc. Also, damage is not affected by target defense. You would be looking at another formula for chance to hit.
If you want to continue your experiment, i'll leave it to your Googling abilities to find the formulae for weapon damage.
