whats the best shield for this setup in d2r? alma negra? or hoz? also for gloves are rends a good option here?

Exile is good if you want tap. If not eth alma negr

Exile makes zeal duels a lot more fun imo. You need a good non tap setup vs the other classes as well though of course.



Exile would still be best as that’s gm in zeal vs zeal. For non tap ss is usually the way to go. You can swap an alma for exile in the above setup but a full non tap setup with fort and ss like what jaaykaay posted usually does better

So I’m going to not use exile, so would phoenox be a good replacement for shield then? And what gloves do you suggest?

Also is Ebotdz fine till I find a good eth death clever?

If you’re going to use ebotdZ, use rends instead of bfists for better damage and def.

Shako + Phoenix will have just Ok AR. Your damage will be good (especially when you get rends) but I’m guessing below 22K ish AR. Alma would give you much better def and AR. Shoot for 24k+ AR.

But EDC will perform much better than ebotdZ. 66% chance to do double damage (81 DS with gores) vs 15% with ebotdZ (only DS from gores).

You only use ebotdZ as a swap vs fury/zon when you drop your viso and Angelics for gface, highlords, raven + melee ring since you don’t need high AR for those duels.

Get an EDC and get 20/10 gloves. Will open a lot of options. If sticking with shaft get an alma and run Shako, or get a viso and run Phoenix. Ultimately you will have a few setups.

Also don’t be afraid to run 10 max GCs, esp with EDC.
