I used to play this game about 5 years ago, enjoyed it greatly

I was a minnie PvP'er and mission runner who stayed in 0.0 always.

Tried this game about 6 months ago...Made a new character, bought a rifter and embarked into 0.0 immediately like my normal habbit.

Except instead of the interesting guild diversity there would just be like 1 major alliance per sector and I was just shoot on sight. Joining corps was impossible -- everybody assumed I was somebody elses alt there to "spy."

Stayed around for about a month, ran missions etc but it seemed the core 0.0 gameplay was gone...No small scale PvP, no corps actively recruiting...Just a giant circle jerk of giant alliances...

Is it still like this?

Or is 0.0 dead in EVE now, forever a carebear fest of giant alliances?

The stuff I fat marked pretty much sums up entire 0.0.

Small gang / solo pvp belongs in low sec.

Thats a safe assumption, you know going to one corp gives you the knowledge to sum up all 0.0.

i didn't stay in one place

i moved around many times and no matter which area of 0.0 i picked, there was one giant alliance with 439749274 member corps that owned all the turf.

very different from how i used to remember this game playing out....

is that what this game is like now? just a few giant alliances that own everything and occasionally clash at their borders?

i hate to be critical but that does sound very very carebear to me.

edit: and i really do want to play this game, was just hoping that the old school 0.0 gameplay was still present. a place to go for high risks, high rewards. but it looks like all the risk was taken away, but all the rewards are kept. just get into some giant alliance and carebear it up...

so basically the game has been dominated by carebears and is no longer worth playing

too bad =(

wormholes seem interesting but it looks like you need to have a 1 - 2 year old character and some pretty nice ships just to even have fun in there

You complain about power blocks owning all of null but you dislike low sec since it cannot be owned and carebeared? Seems to me you have the same mindset as the people you say ruined null.

??

i have no idea what you mean.

most of my old escapades involved very temporary ownership and an almost nomad-like outlook on 0.0 in small-medium sized corps

there were rewards involved due to the planets and mineral fields

there is nothing worth even fighting over in lowsec, and nothing to win even if you fight over it. its just fighting for the sake of fighting.....nothing like nullsec....
