so what happened exactly with this mass account hacking ? i read somewhere that it only happened to people who had their accounts authenticated.... is this right ? and they had to play public game for it to happen, or is it people who logged on at certain time when servers where down for maintenance ?

can some one tell me exactly what happened and if there still a risk of being hacked with out doing anything stupid

still don't know for sure, lots of rumors floating around. There have been reports of people with and without authenticators being hacked.

Blizz made an announcement saying there is an known problem relating to the authenticator which can allow hackers to get on your account and take your stuff but they can't change your password.

It's a good bet there are multiple methods of hacks going on that's why we are getting mixed stories from people.

If you stay out of public games and stay away from people you can not completely trust then you should be fine.

they just need your ingame name

and boom hacked

you people need to stop posting your ingame name on the forums

Players who used map hack got hacked, pretty simple.

Also stories foating about ppl never joining any other randoms, still got hacked.

Where did blizz say this?

I thought they stole your session ID, and needed for you to be Logged on already for them to access it?

Lol.. Just got a friend request from someone I don't know saying "buy 100k for 7$" .. Wtf.. Never joined a public game once
