it just looks boring.

i know they are going for the fighter look and feel and they have done a great job of that, however...
if i wanted to play a figher game i would not be playing d3.

and in d3

you get to switch it up with diff combos and skills to charge up with

looks fun and appealing maybe even more so than the wizard to me right now

The monk is like the WoW rogue and d2 assassin, blizz has already said this, so the likelihood of another character being combo based is very slim IMO. The general consensus of a physical ranged attacker is a little presumptuous, not saying I dont want to play a hunter, but you just can never tell with Blizzard, like, really how many people guessed the Monk would be a class....very few. I'm betting it will be another blind side, something less than 10% of the community will guess.

Also I think the monk looks pretty fun to play, although I will most likely roll a barb, as that was my fav class in D2.

Monk looks fun after I have played the game through with wizard and stuff a few times. It seems like a fun class, but I think the others will be more popular starters since the feel of the characters just seems like it will make money faster, and that is important in a completely new game

Not my first choice of class, but could prove interesting, if nothing else than to watch newbs die in HC after they teleport/fist something in the ass only to be surrounded and then gang raped.

Still pulling for Amazon as the 5th, my personal favorite.

Having played the monk at this last blizzcon id have to say it was extremely fun with the variety of moves they have. granted i was only level 12 because for some reason they were starting everyone at that level, the only downfall i would have to say is that it was extremely squishy. random mobs were beating the shit out of me. overall good stuff
