Doubt they will patch it full stop... I mean maybe they will patchi this specific method, but given the roll is decided the second the item drops (this will NEVER change) I can't see any easy method to completely patch out exploitability.

Maybe I'm wrong - I know NOTHING about programming.

As far as I know, it's patched. I tried it, and it does not work anymore.
