I played MW2 for about 3 years but had to stop because every game had hackers in it.

A few weeks ago I decided to try again... forgot how fun this game was. Unfortunately there's still hackers, but not as many as before (maybe one every five lobbies).



Question is, why do people hack? What went so wrong in their life that they feel the need to obtain illegitimate scores in a video game to feel good about themselves?

It's not so much that they want to obtain illegitimate scores, honestly who gives a shit about their K/D still in MW2? I imagine it's more of a intense boredom of the game that they just hack it instead.

Can't they find something better to do than hack a 5 year old game? lol

How could hacking be more fun than actually playing.

Because you play 6 year old games. Security and cheat prevention is not a priority to the creator of a game that old

Are you on the PS3? Hacks are super rare on the xbox 360. I saw 2-3 aimbotters over the last couple months. Prior to that, I hadn't seen anything remotely close to game-breaking in the previous few years. I have 69 days played on MW2, and the most common hack I see is colored names. I saw an xp lobby for the first time in probably a year. Over the last few years I've seen the inability to break glass hack. That's about it.

PS3 has minimal hackers on mw2/mw3/cod 4
Coming from a daily PS3 player here.

I've seen a few, mostly on bo2 though tbh.

Because it is funny to get in a party with friends and goof off about weird stuff happening.
