I bought packs of 16 square foot rubber mats that connect like puzzle pieces, they were on sale for 10$ ea. I do all kinds of plyometrics, yoga and gynmastics on them, in bare feet. I put underlay(for carpet), on top of plywood and laid the mats on that. I found it was too squishy for some of the balance poses in yoga but other than that, they're really nice. All told I spent around $250 on the setup and I have room for 2 people to work out.

I think if I were to put shoes on, they'd shred pretty easily though.

Me n' the fellas did something similar for our backyard jits. BIG plywood plank (prolly about 8' x 16') with a double-layer of puzzle mat glued to the surface, then one of those blue tarps from Home Depot over that, wrapped to the other side, then stapled in place. We've got four of those that we lay side-by-side.

Works out OK if we're just doing drills / practicing technique on 'em. Though, none of us have tried full-speed randori on 'em yet; not that brave. ;)

If you bookmark this thread, I'll try and get some pics up over the weekend. I don't remember the cost offhand for all material, but it was a HELLUVA lot cheaper than some other mat options we were looking at.

basically im going to test 2 diferent works outs, being p90 and insanity and see what works better for me, only problem is is that i want privacy and space to do so which mean my 5 car garage. so im going to clear some shit out of the way and put my lap top with hdmi on this big old ass tv i have out there and do work. so im going to be going hard. i was thinking sort of the same being like liquid nail 2 sheets of these kids playroom puzzle mats down to eachother and go from there i just dont want to be busting my self on a hard ass floor.

There ya go. Between material costs for putting 'em together, came to about 45 - 50 bucks per (there's four of 'em.)

Okay, obviously not 8' x 16'. I'm bad at math. :P

But, good enough sized that if you lay out a couple side-by-side, you have a good sized area to work with. :)
