You can mix beef/pork with mushrooms. Marinate them with marinating sauce (not expensive to buy from local grocery store) for about 30 min. Fry them together in olive oil for 15 - 20 min on medium fire. Tastes amazing.
If you're having a hard time 'downing' the foods, chances are it probably taste bad, which isn't really good motivation to keep going for an extended time. If I were you, I'd try to make my food taste better (and healthy at the same time of course).
