You already know how your problem is the inspiration. A better question should be why can't I bring my lazy ass to do the things I need to do in order lose weight?

Losing weight is beyond basic, eat less, exercise more, get good sleep every night, eat healthy, be consistent etc.

If it's important enough then you will follow through and find a way. What I am trying to say in a nice way possible is your will is weak. Change that and the weight will drop off and more importantly stay off

Try to add healthy meals with lots of fruits, veggies, and lean proteins in your daily routine. Stay active with exercises you like, such as walking or jogging. Keep at it, and you'll make progress and can lose 20 kg by christmas if you follow the routine strictly you can even complete your aim earlier.

Personally I find that exercise plays a significantly smaller role in weight loss than dieting/caloric restriction. I have tried exercising more and eating more to offset it, and the weight didn't come off. But if I go a few days eating nothing after 3 PM, the numbers on the scale go down fast. So I think eating less is definitely the way to go. Also, it's actually great news for lazy people (I am one of them). It means that you can lose weight without having to lift a finger.
