alright..im going to give the explosive thing a try..we have a leg press at my school thats at a 45 degree angle, but it only has one rack for plates...ours only holds 20 45lb plates and i can do it fully loaded 10 times so im not sure what to do there, should i go into to doing the exercise with singel leg or what?
and what are your views on high step-ups for leg strength?
hey there...
to be completely honest, the high step-ups are VERY hard on the knees...I wouldn't recommend it at all...because it can exacerbate an existing back injury/problem. However, for legpress, you want to go as deep as you can, focus each rep, and use lots of visualization. if you max out the leg press going really slow with each rep, then you need a real leg press. However, doing one leg at a time is DEFINITELY a good thing...you can really develop each leg with more notice to the smaller of your two legs to provide symmetry. Explosive reps on the legpress can help, but should be done sparingly.
Hope this helps =)
