There is no time span it should be done in. You deload when you feel you need to deload, which would be when symptoms of overreaching start to appear. When this happens, continue to lift heavy, but go lift 3 days out of the week with severely reduced volume.

Of course, there are multiple ways to deload, but I personally believe this is the most effective method.

i usually just take a week off. some people train very light for a week, some people test their 1RM over their week off. some people take 2 weeks rest. some people never take deloads.

honestly what i have heard from people usually is do what you feel. if you having been pushing yourself really hard and you feel you need a break then take a deload. everyone is different i am the kind of person if i keep lifting heavy for 6+++ weeks i'm gonna eventually hurt myself if i don't get a break. other people have amazing genetics and never need a deload.

There's overreaching and overtraining. Overreaching is what people think overtraining is, and overtraining is what happens to elite athletes when they train nonstop for months on end and do nothing but train. Overtrain is some serious shit, while overreaching is fixed with a few days, or even a week off.

You lift but have never heard of overtraining? You know what deloading is but don't know what overtraining is? I didn't even think that was possible... Stop being lazy and take it upon yourself to find out.

i asked what overreaching was.... not overtraining. l2read.

and that statement was me making fun of your poor choice of wording. your original post said this "There's overreaching and overtraining. Overreaching is what people think overtraining is" hence my sarcastic remark, what is overtraining then...
