Asking for a pair of skis for Christmas but wan't to pick them out for my parents because they will just end up getting shitty ones. I don't want really expensive ones probably like $250-$350 range (Canadian).

Was looking at these ones:

http://lineskis.com/skis/mastermind

But wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for a relatively cheap nice ski.

Let me know guys :)

i was a ski instructor for 3+ years :P

honestly.. at that price all skis are crappy

just make sure to get decent comfortable boots (they dont take much damage and can be kept even when they want better skis for later on) + staying warm and comfortable on the hill is essential :)

it doesnt matter what brand really..

I don't ski, but I snowboard, and my suggestion would be to buy used if you're a beginner. Last years stuff goes for ridiculously cheap compared to new stuff.

I know used stuff for christmas may not be most peoples style, but you can get much better stuff for the same price. Just a thought :) .

Ya well this is my first set of skis so not looking to spend too much. I am a decent skier and want center mounted skis that are decent enough for the park and just playing around a bit.

always get twin tips, and k2, solomon and Head made pretty good entry level skis.
