It looks interesting--can anyone (definitively) say more about how trading in the game will function? If the game has a strong following and smooth trading features, perhaps it has some hope of getting a forum. I'm going to hang on the fence a while until I know more about it, but by the early response in this thread, it's popularity already looks higher than some of the games that have gotten suggestions for forums.
Well the game has a auction house but its noting like wow though, either you buy a item in there for a set price or you dont.
And as far i have played this game i have not seen a single item thats "soulbound" like wow that makes item trading unpossible.
That and the fact money currency has it uses aswell (mounts, guild city / keep upkeeps / merc.rents etc) im pretty sure it has enough option to get trading going on

The beta seems a little slow running on my pc (basically have the top notch pc that you could get for 3.5 grand 1 year ago) and i run at a consistant 11ish fps on medium settings.
I like the gameplay and the endgame/high level ideas like player built cities, guild sieges on other guilds pve/pvp leveling systems are nice as well.
Only peoblem I see is that melee in this game cannot complete special moves while in motion, that being said its obvious any ranged/casters are going to have a huge advantage in pvp unless they add more snares to each class.
The item system seems nice, and overall if they work out the few kinks it has itl be awesome, atm it has a bout a 5.5/10 from me (but thats me considering the beta a full game) once they add in the other features that number will undoubtedly increase.
I still think D2 is funner than the beta unless they fix the pvp (which is what i play mmo games for)
hope someone read this and got somthing from it, but please don't let me discourage you from buying the game, I'm definately getting it and I will probably love it I'm just a hard critic.
My computer is 1 year old aswell and it runs at 30-60 fps (quad core 2.4ghz 8800 gts 640 mb, so im pretty sure your comp was not that top notch

)
But AoC sure is a heavy game to run on, thats pretty much the only drawback at this game.
And about the disadvantage with melee and casters that is not true, melee classes are equal if not even more powerfull from what i have seen so far.
I had alot of issues aswell in performance (alot of freezing) but on the last day of beta i could finally play smoothly, and the game is really a beauty beyond anything youve ever seen.
They are working with a 150 man team polishing and fixing bugs just before release.
Any further input is appreciated, still need more to get these AoC forums going.
