Reason why the Forum Gold was taken back from you was because the user ( in this case CheesePuff ) that made the trade with you, purchased the Forum Gold, spent it ( traded with you ) and then withdrew his purchase of Forum Gold.

I bet someone else can fill me and give a better explanation about it
