For doing it on twitch, you'll want to look at their help guides, somewhere obvious on their site most likely.

streaming from a mac, xsplit doesnt work.

Noticed you're streaming from MAC, this can complicate a lot of things. I'm not sure if this guide will give you answers then as the software you're using for MAC differers in many ways from our PC softwares, OBS/xsplit.
I'm also quite positive that Artofapocalypse deal with Windows streaming, but check out the guide and see if it gives you any help setting it up. Most of the info should be quite a like for MAC.

Yep, the video I just sent him is very well explained, he just need a few programs that will help him encode his video to go directly to a twitch or justin server, cam twist to enhance your streaming window that people will see ( messages, your webcam in your video, etc ) audio hi-jack pro to get your microphone recorded and then sent to the encoder. Adobe ( to get flash on your mac )
