To get a new IP address, start by cloning another computer’s Mac address using a router hooked up to the cable modem. Then reboot the cable modem, and if everything went OK, the ISP provider’s DHCP system will assign another IP address for your Internet service automatically.

Powering the modem on and off will make it lose the memory of the MAC address of the device it was originally hooked to and it will issue an IP address to the MAC of the new device it is hooked into.

*Note: it is mentioned that you should power it off for about an hour so it will "find" a new IP address.

See if this works.

This one is a bit tricky because you're not the only one that had this issue. honestly, whether a Static or Dynamic with only way to get a new IP address (Right Away) is to contact COMCAST and request a new one.

If you're having problems with your current modem, what will work is to get a new Cable modem and call Comcast and tell them you had to re-place the modem and give them the HFC MAC Address and maybe the serial number of the new modem and you will get a new IP. That's the best way to go about getting a new IP address.
