Why are my posts being closed for violation of the early bump rule? I started not too long ago and I admit for a while I would just put messages up wondering why I could only bump every 4 hours but I could do exactly the same thing by typing another message. I just thought it was weird, I didn't know it was against the rules. The thing is, usually I got bored and abandoned those posts before they ever got closed or I got the item traded that I wanted traded. All of a sudden now that I understand those rules better I'm getting posts closed for responding to offers people have made with quotes of the offers. I see it all the time on other peoples posts, some of mine I decided were closed because I forgot to quote on some of them but then I started making sure I always had that quote. I've updated my list but only when there has been something to update and alot of them were an edit to a 4 hour bump. I'm not supposed to trade via pm so obviously I need some way to talk with someone interested in my item and some way to negotiate with them so in the post seems the most logical place, it seems easier for me to post a message with an updated list if something is sold so that I don't need to post a response to an item I no longer have. I doubled up on the quotes if there were more than one offer so I minimized my posts. What am I doing wrong here?

You can pm people to talk, but if there is no thread for a trade and you decide to trade, the site doesn't support it. - So if you want to respond to them it's fine. - Just make sure you don't delete any PM's as this is an easy way to get scammed.

Do not respond to your thread unless it is an official four hour bump.

If you respond to someone your response counts a a early bump/spam bump.

After 30 minutes of posting something you can use the edit tool

Post number 8 is an early bump. You can wait the 4 hours before updating your post.

That's being EXTREMELY picky. Not like I'm updating it every 10 min with the same stuff just to keep people posted and keep it at the top. I think its BEFORE 30 min when you can edit so going back to edit previous lists doesn't work. Unless they are recent none of my other posts on other trades can be edited, just the most recent bumps in the last well the last 30 min-ish. Post #8 updates 2 seperate sold annis that just happened to be sold after the bump a few minutes earlier. I didn't bump next till at least 4 hours or an offer or an update. I didn't bump one single time on there without just cause. I think someone is over anxious with the close button personally. I'm getting pretty sick of remaking my posts and having to wait an hour to do so just because someone wants to go over the rules with a fine toothed comb and scrutinize something that is a totally legit post into being something "illegal". I could sit here all day every day week after week posting a never ending list of links to trades that far exceed the bending of the rules that my post supposedly did. Just blatant bumps, 10 min 15 min 20, 30, 45 min. Just because my join date is 2012 and my fg doesn't reach into the 10ks yet mine gets closed.

That's not being picky at all. Post 7 and 8 are back to back posts before the 4 hour mark. That is an early bump by it's very definition. Your fg count and join date rare irrelevant, everyone is subject to the same rules and if you see someone else violating the rules, you can click the report post button or if a user is continuously doing it across a lot of threads, you can gather them up and pm them to a trade moderator.

As I said before post 7 is a response to a lowball with a quote of the last list I had posted and a quote of his lowball and my response. 8 is where I realized I had not updated said list when I responded which had 2 annis which had been sold. Picky. Clearly both messages had a purpose and again, I did not bump myself just for the sake of a bump AT ALL.

Your intent doesn't matter. Two back to back posts before the 4 hour mark is a clear cut case of an early bump. Has nothing to do with being picky. The rules are clear in this regard as stated here http://forums.d2jsp.org/info.php?p=6

Quote
Posting 2 back-to-back posts in one thread before 4 hours.

Whether your intent was to bring it up to the front page matters not, that was still the result.

who does this part not just get removed?

Early Bump:
• Posting 2 back-to-back posts in one thread before 4 hours.

so it reads

Early Bump:
• Posting 2 posts in one thread before 4 hours.

back to back would mean 1 after the other with no other posts in between
