there is a way to get rid of them, i want the images on my desktop to look really clean how can i do this

Easiest way to do this, is using the Shortcut Overlay Remover. It can be downloaded for Vista and Windows 7.

Edit: The above mentioned Remover only works for the shortcut overlay. But I just found another one (Ultimate Windows Tweaker), which should also remove the admin security shield overlay.
