For the first few months of using JSP, I wasn't really bothered by all the stupid spam threads in the trade forums. But in last couple weeks or so, it has started to irritate me more and more so I have started reporting some posts. I would like to see if there are other people feel the same way as I do about this.

Lately, I have begun to feel that the current system of handling improper threads is a slap in the face to all users who abide by the rules and use the trading forums for only trading. The rules state that spam does not belong in the trading forum and mods do sporatically close threads (whenever they are able to). But as we all have seen, closing spam threads does not in any way reduce the amount of spam threads that are present in the forums. There are always more users ready to remake all the spam threads faster than the mods can close them.

Now, let me be clear in saying that I completely understand that being a JSP mod is not a full-time job and that they can only do so much. I don't expect swift responses to every inapropriate thread that pops up, that is obviously unrealistic. But how much more time would it take a mod to hand out a warn when they close a spam thread? Maybe not give a warn every single time, but at least half the time.

Now, if the people who run JSP decide that they want to make their website a place for spam forums, then that is completely their right. They can even name their spam forums "USEAST Trading" if they so choose. It is my responsibility as a user to decide whether I want to use the service or not, plain and simple. But at least be up front about it so that users know what the intention is. If you intend to have the trading forum be for trading, then give out warns for spam threads and then it will become so. Currently, the amount of spam in the forums is equivalent to what it would be if there was no moderation at all.

Simply put:

* The words of JSP rules state that the trading forums are not for spam.
* The actions of the people who can enfore the rules convey that they intend for the trading forums to continue to be filled with spam.
* Actions speak louder than words.

Its not reluctance. There are just far too many spam threads, not enough mods and most of the time, people don't deserve a warn for whatever they posted, considering the consequences for high amount of warn.

i agree with u too that spam in the trading grounds should be punished by warn 10% for each opened spam topic

but mods have to do rly much so they cant take care of each trading ground and each topic wich was created there

maybe there could be a site suggestion of new "mod" group wich has the single task to close spam topics in trading grounds and wich has to report the users to a mod who can give the warn

I want to see if I am the only person that feels this way, or if someone has a dissenting opinion I would like to hear it.

As I stated, I certainly don't expect every topic, or anywhere close, to be dealth with. But the ones they DO close could come with warns. That wouldn't require any additional effort on top of what they are doing now.
